mourning a lover;goodbye summer

(photos by Paige Smith, script by Erin Bradley)

I sit here drained from the beauty of the day & I don't want to waste it,
I try not to think about the sun's resting point, although it's promised to return tomorrow,
Silently I mourn the melting but humbly greet it's vibrance.
Vulnerable to your kiss, I surrender to your rays.
Stay here an hour longer and you'll own my company, my words, my soul.
Take me with you into the West while the moon moves the Eastern waves
& we'll dance together on the sunlit shores.
